About SALAR WOOL

Salar Wool is a wool clothing collection designed by the Fly Fishing Centre in the Scottish Borders town of Kelso. Using sustainably sourced natural fibre materials, most of the garments in our collection are woven or knitted within the River Tweed’s catchment area. Known for its heritage, skill and craftsmanship, the Scottish Borders has a celebrated history of producing quality, premium textiles. This provenance is something we strive to celebrate and reflect in our clothing range.

Our intention with the Salar Wool is to embody this as well as incorporating a renewable and environmentally friendly ethos into all of our processes, from the initial design to the finished garment. Working with specialist weavers and world-renowned mills within the local area, we are able to design and manufacture the majority of our collection within a 20 mile radius of our base in Kelso. This keeps it local to our area for economic benefits and also reducing our carbon footprint.
